"I recently had an unfortunate experience at King George Hospital's emergency department. While I understand that emergency rooms can be busy, my visit left me quite dissatisfied. The waiting times were exceptionally long, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Communication was lacking, and I didn't feel well-informed about my treatment plan. Additionally, the facilities appeared outdated and in need of improvement. I hope the hospital can address these issues to provide better care for patients in the future."
“My recent visit to the hospital was marred by a deeply unpleasant encounter with Head Nurse Kerline. Her demeanor and behavior were shockingly disrespectful. I felt unheard and belittled during our interaction, which is entirely unacceptable when seeking medical care.
I was checked with the respect and quickly (when doctor was available).
Medical staff seem to patronise , regardless of your own intelligence or professional standing , not all but some !
Ineffective use of time and repetition of the same task .
Waiting 9 hours to be dealt with is not acceptable, given I was sent here for something that I was told was spreading rapidly and could affect my brain
I was treated with kindness I went to hospital A and E nearly after 5 years first I did not have a good experience but this time I notice the staff was friendly and kind and giving proper attention and in due time even they give me medicine for pain
I am happy with the management and the care received.
It is horrible the waiting time is unbelievable , staff is so rude the guy with long hair from emergency department didn’t even wanna tell me where the toilet is so I could give them the urine sample , after the nurse forget to put back the lid from my cannula , my blood was dripping everywhere even o my trousers , when she did the ECG she didn’t know how to put the cables she was struggling …I really feel worse then better ….but I can only thank to the last doctor that made me more calm as he told me my results are good and he was very nice as well his name was Ahmad ….also the English lady from reception is so rude even with the staff from ambulance she was shouting …she is disgusting she make people wanna leave sick like that
Dr Issabela was very nice, helpful and professional. However waiting time must change! Going in A&E with severe chest pain and difficulties and spending over 12 hours without even a pain killer is just simply unacceptable. Staff members in A&E were all nice and helpful.
CT scan was requested by Dr Issabela around 9.15 pm and it was approved by scan dept not long after requested. But not sure why I had to wait 3 hours for the scan even though there was not any patient! Further 2.5 hours for repot, a total of 5.5 hours for CT. If only A&E associated depts responded promptly and empathy then A&E would be able to run smoother with less waiting time. Someone needs to look into CT scan depts how many patients they have actually seen on that night. A patient with blood clot will not survive next time with 12 hours wait! I was just one lucky individual.
One member of staff was difficult to understand
Was told different things by each doctor so was a bit confusing
Dr was a professional person explain everything to me all the way. The nurse taking your blood pressure, the gentleman that took my blood I will say the whole team did a excellent job.
I was in king George for 2 nights after coming to A&E I had to wait over 10 hours just to be seen by a doctor as all night there was only one doctor working. I was in a lot of pain to the point it was making me cry I was left waiting for pain medication which I had to keep chasing up to get it. During my time at king George I had a funny turn, being sick, uncontrollable shivering, sweating and my heart rate had gone as high as 153. During this time I could over hear a nurse and a doctor talking about me to which the doctor called me stupid and said why was I wearing a hoodie. I heard the nurse say that I was presenting as having sepsis it took a long time for anyone to even hook me up to a iv to give me any antibiotics. When I was finally hooked up to a IV for antibiotics, twice the IV was taken of my cannula and a nurse was told off by another nurse for doing this as I was presenting as sepsis and needed antibiotics fast. After having an IV, bearing in mind my heart rate at this point was still 143 I was left in a side room for ages with no doctors or nurses coming to see me for at least 20 minutes. During my time here I was also put on the ward majors it was agreed that I would need some more antibiotics this was at 8am by 2pm I still had no antibiotics or fluids via IV. My husband and my self had to complain on 2 occasions. To not only chase up my antibiotics but I had not had my sugars tested the whole time I was at king George considering I am type 2 diabetic, I had not had any of my normal medication I take at home. Finally when a nurse came around with a bag of antibiotics she told me it was amaoxcillin I had already explained I can not have that antibiotic as I am resistant to a few antibiotics that being on of them, she said she would speak to a doctor. She came back after speaking to a doctor to which she told me I can have it as I am not allergic to it, I explained to her I never told her I was allergic I told her I am resistant to it and for her to look at my notes. This again took me complaining again to a doctor to get the right antibiotics.
